Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.”
Matthew 2:1-2
Worship is not just something you do; it’s something that comes from deep within your heart and soul. It’s a love so intense it cannot be contained and must be expressed. Worship is a yearning to be with the One who sustains you and makes you whole—who gives you life, peace and real joy. You were created to worship.
The wise men knew what it meant to worship. They expectantly awaited the birth of the Savior and went to great lengths to be in His presence. It didn’t matter what they had to go through or how long it took to get there, they were determined to be in His presence. Imagine the excitement they felt at the moment they laid their eyes upon Him. It made them incapable of doing anything but falling down and worshipping Him. This kind of worship and adoration flows from a heart that is filled with anticipation, excitement and expectancy. It comes from spending time meditating on Him and adoring Him.
One moment in God’s presence is all it takes to transform you forever. The Father is waiting with an expectant heart. Do you yearn for Him as much as He yearns for you? To what lengths are you willing to go to be in His presence?
